Faster to ship than to ask permission.
So the bottleneck moves up the stack. Not "can I build it?" — "is the problem expensive enough?"
Expensive ≠ big. A €100k niche that closes in six months is invisible to a VC. It's a great year for one person.
Average ships itself now. Standing out is the new craft.
Hence the hunt: find the expensive ones — narrow, time-boxed, ignored — and build straight at them.

I wanted to ELO-rank Taylor Swift's catalog. So I built the thing that does it.
